01Project
Overview |
Chasing Clouds is a collection of poems that captures the bittersweet journey of a relationship. It delves into the elation of falling in love, the anguish of a heartbreak, and the liberating process of moving forward. Through its words, it weaves a narrative that's profoundly personal yet universally relatable.

02Challenge
|
The main brief of this project is to produce a 24-page digital tabloid newspaper on the theme of clouds. The brief emphasizes the importance of capturing the ephemeral beauty of clouds and encourages both written and visual contributions. The publication is intended to be a self-published literary newsprint featuring provided texts and original images that respond to the theme. It also mentions the need to consider various elements of layout, including concept, grids, typography, and page design, and encourages both conventional and experimental approaches. |
03Clouds comes
in three different layers |
I structure this project into three chapters, each showcasing a distinct collection of poems. Furthermore, I intend to weave the concept of progression, inspired by the formation and characteristics of clouds, throughout the entire work. |
04Typefaces & Colours
|
The connection between Swiss Design and the characteristics of clouds is that both are known for their clean, minimalistic aesthetic. Swiss Design emphasizes simplicity, clarity, and precision, while clouds are often associated with a sense of vastness and openness, as well as a clean, fresh feeling. Thus, using Swiss Design principles in this publication help evoke a similar aesthetic and feeling to that of clouds.

05Monoprint & Photography
|
Utilizing the monoprint technique, I crafted a unique texture that mirrors the organic and fluid forms of clouds. Moreover, the inherent unpredictability of the monoprinting process will infuse the overall design with an element of spontaneity and naturalness.Using both serif and sans-serif typefaces also help create contrast in the design.
